Every Catchable Pokmon In South Province

The South Province of the Paldea region in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is expansive, with many different types of Pokémon available to catch.

The Paldea region, introduced in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, has an expansive map full of various areas to explore and Pokémon to catch. In different parts of the region, players can generally expect to find unique Pokémon that can't be easily encountered elsewhere. The South Province is no exception, though given the province is further split into six individual areas, there may be more to find there than almost anywhere else in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. It's a good spot for players to stop and expand their Pokémon team before moving into other areas of Paldea. While there are plenty of encounters to be discovered, perhaps the most important is those of standard Pokémon which can be caught.

Although Pokémon Scarlet and Violet have exclusives and differences when it comes to available Pokémon, it isn't very noticeable oftentimes given the vast size of the Pokédex as a whole. Players will only have to take note of a few exclusives that won't be readily available to them, and even then they can trade between other online players to fully complete the Pokédex. It's good to keep an eye on which Pokémon are missing in order to determine if any trades need to be made, though, and thankfully Game8 has compiled an extensive list of what can be caught as players venture through Paldea's South Province.

Pokémon Scarlet Exclusive Pokémon In Paldea's South Province

On top of that list, there are a few Pokémon that Pokémon Scarlet players will run into but Pokémon Violet players will not. It's debatable which version of the game has the better exclusives, but Pokémon fans with a particular favorite will likely want to take note of what they'll be missing out on if they choose to purchase one edition over the other. Not only are there different variant appearances and evolutions for some Pokémon, such as Charcadet, who can be evolved into Cereludge in Pokémon Violet, but some series staples are locked into one particular version. Pokémon Scarlet exclusives in the South Province can be seen below:

Drifloon

Drifblim

Larvitar

Pupitar

Stunky

Deino

Pokémon Violet Exclusive Pokémon In Paldea's South Province

The same goes for Pokémon Violet as well. In both cases, there are more exclusives than those listed here. Even an area as large as South Province can't include all 400 or so of the Pokémon available in the Paldea region. Still, it's a good area to hunt for Pokémon and does contain a fair number of the game's exclusives:

Bagon

Shelgon

Misdreavus

Mismagius

Gulpin

Dreepy

As one can tell, South Province doesn't vary too drastically between both versions of the game. This makes it easier to play alongside other friends who own Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, progressing simultaneously and comparing encounters. Although some fans worried multiplayer could destroy Pokémon Scarlet and Violet's balance, the game's fresh approach to cooperation can make reaching milestones twice as satisfying for many players, and Paldea's South Province in particular provides plenty of stepping stones in the form of Pokémon that can help players reach those milestones.
