Shopping malls across Maui are hosting Black Friday shopping, photos with Santa and other holiday events with the Christmas season around the corner.
At The Shops at Wailea, Santa Claus will make his entrance during a parade from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday. He will be escorted from Kalama Park to The Shops by Maui Classic Cruisers and Street Bikers United Hawaii.
The parade will be followed by a Holiday Polynesian Show from 11 a.m to noon at the lower valley performance area followed by the monthly Ke Kani Hone O Wailea Concert, which will feature Kalani Pe’a from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
The concert will benefit Hawai’i Community Foundation’s Maui Strong Fund to assist victims from the devastating Maui wildfires. Guests who donate $50 or more will receive an exclusive Shops at Wailea cap.
The Shops will also host a canned food drive for the Maui Food Bank. Recommended items included canned meat and tuna, canned fruits and vegetables, cereal, soups with proteins, rice and pasta. The Queen Ka’ahumanu Center will also host events from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. There will be a live remote broadcast with Shane Kahalehau of KPOA on center stage, along with giveaways.
Santa arrives on Dec. 1 with program from 5 to 6 p.m. There will be complimentary cookies and hot cocoa sponsored by Starbucks, in addition to giveaways, special deals and holiday performances.
On specific days there will also be pet photos with Santa and a “Soothing Santa,” offering a welcoming and accommodating environment for children regardless of sensory sensitivities. Reservations are required for “Soothing Santa” by emailing marketing@qkcmanagement.com.

Maui Mall Village will host its “Hau’oli Holidays” starting with Small Business Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Santa will arrive for photos from 10 a.m. to noon. Shoppers can bring a donation of a nonperishable food item for the mall’s holiday food drive for the Maui Food Bank and take a free Santa and elf selfie. Singer-songwriter Jason Tepora will perform from noon to 1 p.m., followed by Halau Hula O Keola Ali’i O Kekai from 1 to 2 p.m.
Every Saturday leading up to Christmas, Maui Mall Village will have Santa and elf photos and live holiday entertainment. The holiday food drive runs through Dec. 23. For more information, see www.mauimallvillage.com.
