Controversy’s favourite and one of the most sought after actresses in the 1990s, Mamta Kulkarni played the village belle Bindiya in Karan Arjun. But she quit her Bollywood career rather abruptly in 2002 and went underground until reports of her marrying a drug kingpin surfaced in 2012, even denying reality show offers when she moved to Kenya. Last we heard, Mamta Kulkarni was reportedly detained by the Kenyan police in a drug trafficking investigation.

Raakhee Gulzar

 

She cemented her position as one of the most convincing on screen maa’s in Bollywood. Raakhee played the strong willed Durga who lived on the belief – “Mere Karan Arjun aayenge!” From speaking dialogues that are now considered iconic to retiring completely from the film industry in 2003, her journey has taken quite the turn in the last 20 years.

Playing the feared Durjan Singh in Karan Arjun, Amirsh Puri became as popular for his villainous roles as he did for his acts as an endearing father figure. Unfortunately, he passed away in 2005. His last on-screen appearance was in Kisna, which released posthumously.

Playing Kajol’s father and Amrish Puri’s ally, the popular villain reprised the act yet again in Karan Arjun. 20 years on, he is still active in the movies and what’s more, his son Chiranjeevi too is looking to put his acting chops to the test.

Having made a mark in the industry by doing negative roles, Jack Gaud played Shamsher Singh in Karan Arjun. He continued to act in movies thereafter until 2000, when he passed away due to a heart attack.

Gavin Packard

A fighter and bodybuilder, Gavin played a boxer who fights Salman Khan in Karan Arjun. Known as the trainer to Suneil Shetty and Sanjay Dutt, he enacted action sequences in a number of Hindi and Malayalam films, his last on screen appearance being in 2002 in Jaani Dushman. He passed away in 2012 due to a respiratory disorder.
